If you are looking for a sturdy and functional steamer for home use, the Jiffy Steamer J-2000 is a great option. It would also be an excellent pick if you run a small business and need to keep parts of the office clean or smarten up your small shop. With one and a half hours of steaming ability from one tank of water, you won't have to keep stopping to refill the steamer either.
There are a lot of steamers on the market, especially if your focus is for domestic or small area usage. How can you know which one is for you? One way to pick the right steamer for your situation is to make sure you understand everything you need to know make the right decision.
The Jiffy Steamer J-2000 is a smart and functional device with a 3/4 gallon base to hold the water. This roomy vessel means more time steaming, less time messing around with refills. It is perfect for use on clothes - no more breaking out the iron every morning when you can just give it a quick sweep over with the steamer! It draws out wrinkles in no time at all. With the well-made wheels and sturdy plastic you can drag it with you without worrying about the weight or spilling any of the water over your carpets. It also has a no-drip valve which makes it even easier.
If you have tatty old wallpaper that needs to come down the quickest way is to steam it. The wallpaper eases away and very little residue remains. The Jiffy Steamer J-2000 is just right for the job and it has enough reach with the hose that it won't be much of a stretch for the average room. The hose is five and a half feet and very flexible so it is not difficult to manipulate even into the awkward corners.
One of the best things about this steamer is that it is fast. Some steamers take a lot of time to warm up, but in a minute or two this steamer is up and ready to go. Of course, no product is perfect. Compared to some steamers the Jiffy Steamer J-2000 has quite limited water storage making it unsuitable for large scale use. If you need a steamer than can take a lot of abuse and run for hours on just one tank of water, this is not the product for you. It has 3000 watts of steaming power which is not going to be enough for heavier use.
If you use the steamer for its intended domestic purpose however, the steamer will serve you well. It is solid and durable enough to take home use with no problem at all.
Even within the Jiffy brand, the J-2000 stands out. Compared to the J-2, it is more portable and compact but with a higher level of functionality. The water tank is secured rather than loose, meaning it is safer to use without spillage, and the tank sits lower which means it is far easier to store - especially if you are using it within a small business, where it can be tucked beneath your shop counter.
Its closest competitor in terms of use and price is the Rowenta 8100, a 1500 watt steamer that is also touted for home and small business use. However, I would not recommend picking the Rowenta when the J-2000 is an option, considering the design differences. Although the Rowenta looks much more stylish than the Jiffy steamer, it is not built with the same level of durability. Many of the pieces are flimsy plastic in the Rowenta 8100, where the J-2000 is far sturdier.
The only other downside to this steamer is that you will have a learning curve. It can feel unwieldy when you try it the first time with the large hose and the sizable tank. It might take a few tries to figure out how to get the best use out of it but once you do, you'll be set for a long time.
The Jiffy Steamer J-2000 is fast, flexible and durable option for home and small company steaming. If that is your intended use, this is the steamer for you.
